Good morning Yogis and soon to be Yogis! Here I am a little earlier then usual and this maybe a new routine.
This week is all about Dharana, the sixth limb of yoga.
Dharana's essence is being able to focus one's attention on the present moment.
In this day and age we are experts on multitasking. Not allowing us to master one thing. Minds are scattered daily then, wondering,' why am I anxious and cannot relax.' Set an alarm while you sit and enjoy a nice picture of a dream place. When preforming a task savor the moment, not thinking of what comes next.
Truly I am guilty of doing this. Each morning I play catch with my puppy, Hazel and check my phone. She very kindly reminds me to focus on her with a big kiss or two or leaves the ball far from me so I get up to throw it. I think pets and children remind us to stay present in the moment. They are our best teachers!
